Everett Jacobson, Ph.D. was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1970 from Loyola University of Chicago. His pre-doctoral internship was done in the Veterans Administration hospital system, and he also did year's training at the Institute for Juvenile Research under the Illinois Department of Mental Hygiene.
Dr. Jacobson became a staff psychologist at the University of California Irvine Medical Center, child psychiatry department, and an instructor at Chapman University in Orange, California. In 1975, he became an Associate Professor of Psychology and Clinic Director at Chapman University, where he stayed until 1981. He also was a faculty member at the California Graduate Institute's Orange County campus.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, and has been an officer and ethics chairman of the Orange County Psychological Association. From 1990-92, he was senior psychologist and Clinical Director at the Bellwood Health Center in Bellflower California. He has been in full time private practice of clinical psychology since 1995 in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.
Dr. Jacobson was host of a radio talk show, For and About Men, in 2000-2002. The show was broadcast over KFNX in Phoenix, Arizona and Voice of America radio network.
